Old Folks Home

Last Saturday, went to old folks home with my classmates. It is somewhere around Ampang area. Had not more than 3 hours sleep, but it didn’t spoil my enthusiastic heart from visiting these old folks. :)

At first we were like so awkward, did not know how to communicate with em, afraid they would not bother us. Surprisingly, they were so friendly! Most of em keep talking with us. A good start. :)

This old lady was talking about how her children dumped her at here till she cried. We were like GOSH find some other thing to talk with her! She was a sweet lady, she just need someone to communicate with her. :(

My classmates were trying to care about every old folks at here.

 

I like this uncle. He is so intelligent. And you know what did he tell us? He chose to stay at here himself due to his disease, without burden his children. How great he is as a father. :’)

 

Tv is only their entertainment. Anyway, classmates and I are planning to bring mahjong or poker for extra entertainment. At least this is what we can do.

We sang a birthday song to all of em as a pressie. Hope they wouldn’t lose faith in themselves. :)

Everytime I would gain more experience throughout the volunteering jobs. The first time to old folks home, I have mixed feelings towards em. Feel like crying, listening to their stories. At the same time, feel happy for those of em who have optimistic thinking.

 

As I always say, family is the most important in my life. Most of the people would only regret when family is gone. Why not we behave filial piety now when they’re still here instead of regretting afterwards?

 

And these old folks, they need our assistance. If you could lend a hand, everything would be different. They deserve love like us. :)
